CNC Turning

CNC turning combines the capabilities of lathes and milling machines by using live tools to machine cylindrical features of parts. This technology allows efficient cutting and forming from metal bars, making the machining process more flexible and precise. The introduction of live tools allows lathes to perform not only simple turning operations, but also a variety of complex machining tasks such as drilling and milling, thereby improving production efficiency and part quality.

General tolerances for CNC positioning and forming

Unless otherwise agreed with you, we will strive to achieve and maintain the tolerances stated below. These tolerances will vary depending on the primary manufacturing method you choose:

Round holes: 10 mm diameter, tolerance +0.01 mm to +0.03 mm.

If other tolerances or specific requirements are required, please communicate promptly and we will adjust them accordingly.

Main processes of CNC machining

CNC milling: removes material from the workpiece by using a multi-point rotating tool. Basic milling machines usually consist of a three-axis system (X, Y and Z), which is still one of the most popular and widely used machining processes. In three-axis machining, the workpiece remains fixed and the rotating tool cuts along the X, Y and Z axes.

4-axis CNC machining: adding a rotating axis to the three-axis can achieve more complex machining tasks and improve flexibility.

5-axis CNC machining: further adding an additional rotating axis allows the tool to cut the workpiece from multiple angles, which is often used in the production of high-precision parts and suitable for the machining of complex geometries.

These CNC machining technologies provide a high degree of flexibility and precision and are widely used in the manufacture of parts in various industries.

CNC Turning

CNC turning: Material is removed from a rotating workpiece by using a single-point cutting tool. During CNC turning, a CNC machine (usually a lathe) moves linearly along the surface of a rotating workpiece, feeding the tool into the workpiece and removing material around the circumference until the desired diameter is reached.

Main axes: Most CNC lathes consist of two main axes:

X-axis: Controls the movement of the tool in the horizontal plane and adjusts the cutting depth.

Z-axis: Controls the movement of the tool in the vertical direction and adjusts the cutting length.

This method enables CNC turning to achieve high-efficiency and high-precision processing, and is widely used in the manufacture of cylindrical parts.
