Aluminum is a highly formable, machinable, and lightweight material. Parts made from this material are suitable for almost all industries. Furthermore, due to its low cost and flexibility, aluminum has become a popular choice for prototyping.
Aluminum comes in two main basic forms: cast aluminum and wrought aluminum. Wrought aluminum is generally stronger and more expensive, containing a lower proportion of external elements in its alloy. Compared to cast aluminum, wrought aluminum is also superior in terms of heat resistance and machinability.

Nylon 6/6 is the most commonly used material in the nylon plastic family. It possesses relatively high chemical and heat resistance, is rigid enough to maintain its shape, and also has good toughness, preventing permanent deformation under load.
Two of the most prominent applications of nylon are medical devices and electronic insulation, particularly for screws and washers in panel-mount circuit boards. Glass-filled nylon, on the other hand, possesses many excellent properties, such as high rigidity, strength, hardness, toughness, and dimensional stability. This material can be widely used in components requiring mechanical damping or electrical insulation.

Nylon is a versatile and low-cost plastic, ideal for parts requiring high compressive strength and abrasion resistance, while also being machined to extremely tight tolerances. In some applications, nylon can replace metals for parts with long wear cycles and lower maintenance requirements than its metal counterparts.
Furthermore, nylon is generally stronger, can withstand higher temperatures, and is more cost-effective than PTFE, PEEK, and UHMW.
