Advantages of Industrial Laser Cutting

Industrial laser cutting has become a very popular processing technology in manufacturing due to its numerous advantages:
1. Affordability
Cost-effectiveness: The high speed and quality of laser cutting make it very cost-competitive, delivering real value to customers. It is an ideal process for everything from prototyping to small-batch production of parts.
2. Automation
Efficient Production: Our laser cutting machines at our Denver facility are equipped with automatic loading and unloading systems, allowing us to efficiently process large orders unattended. This reduces operating costs and speeds up the delivery of finished parts.
3. Precise Details
High-Precision Machining: Laser cutting can produce small, precise holes and intricate details on thin metal sheets, making it ideal for projects requiring fine machining.
4. Tight Tolerances
Precise Control: CNC control technology ensures that laser cutting maintains tight tolerances while supporting the processing of fine features and large blank sizes, meeting high manufacturing standards.
5. Fast Turnaround
Quick Setup and Operation: The quick setup and operation of laser cutting are suitable for fast turnaround of small batches of parts. Additionally, because laser cutting does not apply any physical force to the metal sheet, it reduces the need for fixtures or workholding devices, speeding up setup and production times.
6. Maximized Material Utilization
Reduced Waste: Laser cutting can cut multiple parts from the same sheet of material, effectively reducing material waste and improving resource utilization.

Disadvantages of Industrial Laser Cutting

Despite its many advantages, industrial laser cutting also has some drawbacks that need to be considered:
1. Heat-Affected Zone
Thermal effects: The heat generated during laser cutting can alter the chemical and structural properties of the metal near the cutting edge, a phenomenon known as the"heat-affected zone."This effect can lead to oxidation, increased brittleness, and corrosion of the material, although the heat-affected zone produced by laser cutting is smaller compared to other thermal cutting techniques.
2. Limitations in Cutting Thick Metal Plates
Cutting capacity: Laser cutting has limitations in its ability to cut thicker metal materials. When cutting beyond a certain thickness, the results are generally not as good as waterjet cutting. Therefore, for certain applications involving thicker materials, other cutting methods may need to be considered.

Packaging and Shipping

Bent sheet metal parts are typically packaged in flat, rectangular boxes. Each box is fitted with correctly configured components to ensure they remain undamaged during transit. The packaging is designed to protect the parts while also being sealed to prevent moisture and other contaminants from entering.
The boxes can be marked with the customer's name and address, as well as other order-related information. Once packaged, the boxes are placed in larger shipping containers, such as pallets, to ensure the safe delivery of the parts.
Once the parts are packaged and ready for shipment, they are monitored using a tracking number. This tracking number allows customers to monitor the shipping progress in real time, ensuring that items are delivered on time and without incident.
