What is SLS 3D Printing?
SLS printing primarily uses nylon materials and can incorporate various fillers to enhance material properties, such as hard carbon fillers or flame-retardant properties. This flexibility makes SLS excellent for diverse applications.
During SLS printing, a laser scans each cross-section, then the powder bed is reduced to a layer thickness, and a new layer of material is applied on top. This selective laser sintering process is repeated until the part is complete. This method not only improves production efficiency but also ensures the accurate realization of complex part geometries.

Vapor-Smoothed SLS 3D Printed Parts
Hongsinn offers vapor-smoothed 3D printed parts for superior surface finishes. Utilizing AMT PostPro3D technology, vapor smoothing is a batch-based automated smoothing process that delivers high-quality surface results. Combined with low-cost SLS, this surface treatment allows parts to compete with injection-molded products in both form and function. Vapor smoothing creates a uniform, sealed surface with a semi-gloss appearance. SLS parts can also be colored to further enhance their visual appeal. The treated surface improves the overall performance of the 3D printed parts, including ultimate tensile strength, flexural yield strength, and elongation at break. Furthermore, vapor smoothing is also suitable for HP Multi Jet Fusion, selective laser sintering, and fused deposition modeling of parts made from rigid plastics and elastomers.
